These bookmarks were entirely hand made by forming clay, firing, glazing, and firing a final time. The metal work was cut, bent, hammered, and the two pieces were then put together.
Holly is a native of Cape Cod and began her career in clay as an apprentice at Brewster Pottery. Going on to complete an undergraduate degree in Art Education, and obtained a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the School of American Craftsmen at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Currently she works in Earthenware clay and both hand-builds or throws on the Potter's Wheel. Each piece is then fired a final time to 1830 degrees for 8 hours. Inspiration comes from the seashore with it's colors and shore life. Holly's studio is in Barnstable Village. She is a long member of the Society of Cape Cod Craftsmen, the Cape Cod Potters, and Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
